Jim Cramer’s top 10 things to watch in the stock market on Monday
My top 10 things to watch for Monday, Nov. 4. As I wrote in my Sunday column for Investing Club members, trading in these options is a gamble not worth playing. In the meantime, we’re into corporate earnings, which is something I understand and can talk about. So I ran through 11 amazing things about this pay season that you can save and spend when the options are confirmed, including my favorite buys so far. 2. Viking Therapeutics surges ahead of Eli Lilly with potential obesity pill. Eli Lilly is a Club stock but has had a disappointing quarter. The diabetes and obesity drug giant posted disappointing third-quarter results and lowered its full-year guidance. 3. There is actually no money listed in the Club name Nvidia but shares were up 2% premarket after the S & P Dow Jones Indices announced on Friday that the chipmaker will replace Intel in the 30 – stock Dow. Intel, which reported better-than-expected results Thursday, should be higher and Nvidia lower. The change will take effect at the end of the week. 4. Peloton rose 8% in the premarket after Bank of America upgraded shares of the fitness equipment maker to buy from underperform. The firm quoted higher estimates after the company reported higher-than-expected first-quarter EBITDA and raised its FY25 guidance. Peloton on Thursday said it has hired Peter Stern, a Ford executive and co-founder of Apple Fitness+, to be its next CEO and president. 5. Charter was upgraded to buy from neutral at BofA with a price target of $450, up from $385. Under the rope? The firm cited improving broadband infrastructure, which has lowered its capex estimates for 2024 and 2025. 6. Comcast’s price target was raised to $42 from $40 at Barclays, which kept it the same. of the weight of the parts. A new speed with the possibility of separation of cable equipment. 7. Dell is the winner of the Super Micro problems. I see the Super Micro in more trouble than people think. 8. Humana’s price target was lowered to $290 from $387 at Wells Fargo. With the exception of UnitedHealth Group, these MCOs (managed care organizations) are all questionable. Wells maintains an overweight rating on HUM though… 9. Barclays raised its price target on Chevron to $174 from $168 after a better quarter. I have Coterra Energy on Mad Money tonight. The company on Thursday reported mixed third-quarter results for sales and earnings. However, production numbers and earnings — the latter being what the Street really cares about — came in ahead of expectations. 10. Citi expects a hit in third-quarter earnings for Foot Locker, which will be a trigger for shares. The former Club name reports results on Dec. 4.
